Description
A visit to this Open Air Museum is a MUST for all visitors to Kangaroo Valley. Museum visitors will enjoy the historic buildings which all originated in the Kangaroo Valley area.
One, in 1973 dismantled slab by slab on it's original site and re-erected as a beautiful homestead in the Museum grounds by Members of the Historical Society. Along with this is a saddlery, a dairy, a forge, a timber cutters hut, a bush school and many more, all set in a magnificent park with BBQ and toilet facilities. All buildings have wheelchair access. The children will love to cross the 72m swinging bridge which leads to 2 marked bushwalks on more than seven hectares of natural reserve.
You can see the Museum in an hour, or after spending a whole day in the Park there will still be more history to discover. Exhibits are continually being improved and added to.
Talking History
Recently all major buildings were equipped with sound systems. You press a button and hear local personalities tell you their life stories and details about the items on display. What better way to learn about our past!
